The Challenge.
The existing trading dashboard had grown by accretion. Years of added panels, metrics, and one-off requests left an interface where everything competed for attention and nothing felt authoritative. Traders had learned to work around it rather than with it.
The deeper tension was trust. A financial tool has to read as precise and dependable, yet the density of information made it feel fragile and improvised. The challenge was to bring structural calm to a screen that genuinely needs to show a great deal at once.
The Solution.
The work began with mapping what traders actually look at, in what order, and under what pressure. That reading-order became the backbone of a layout grid, so hierarchy was decided by the structure rather than by individual screens.
From there a small, disciplined design system carried the visual weight: a restrained type scale, consistent spacing, and components that behave predictably across states. The hand-off documented those rules so the front-end could be built once and extended without drifting back into clutter.
